About The Position

Reporting to the HR Director, the Training Specialist will be responsible for creating and communicating standard work instructions for production processes, assisting in the communication and management of branding and employee engagement, and partnering to develop a Performance Coaching role in production. This role involves managing Job Process and Safety Training content via a digital platform for new hire and incumbent employees, assigning, tracking, and maintaining employee trainings in the ADP Learning module, and collaborating with Quality, Safety, and Production to develop effective performance improvement solutions. The specialist will evaluate training effectiveness, utilize the Learning Management System and assessments to document training activities, complete needs assessments for employee training needs, and partner with the Quality Manager and Production Supervisors in addressing remedial training needs. Additionally, the role acts as a Learning Systems Administrator for the Vector Learning Management platform and ADP learning platform, maintains a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, ensures all training documentation is complete and properly stored, and surveys production staff for input on training content and effectiveness. The Training Specialist will also partner with the HR Director in the creation of a high-performance culture and values stream.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years in a training role in a production environment.
  • Experience formalizing training with production staff; to include facilitation and content development.
  • Competence in developing training content and evaluation.
  • Understanding and demonstrated experience in effective training methodology.
  • Comfortable interacting on the production floor.
  • Tolerance of warm temperatures in the summer is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • An analytical approach to problem solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of at least one training platform, such as ADP Learning or Vector is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Job Process and Safety Training content, via digital platform, required for new hire and incumbent employees to perform job duties safely and in accordance with production procedures.
  • Assign, track, and maintain employee trainings in the ADP Learning module.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Safety, and Production to develop effective performance improvement solutions.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through appropriate course evaluation and post training effectiveness evaluations making modifications to the program(s) design to increase program efficiency.
  • Utilize the Learning Management System and assessments to document training activities.
  • Complete needs assessments for employee training needs in order to determine future training content.
  • Partner with the Quality Manager and Production Supervisors in addressing remedial training needs relative to quality errors or corrective processes.
  • Act as a Learning Systems Administrator to provide/create content, track, and assign trainings with the Vector Learning Management platform and ADP learning platform.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Ensure all training documentation is complete and properly stored for compliance and reference purposes.
  • Survey and solicit input from production staff regarding training content and effectiveness.
  • Partner with the HR Director in the creation of a high performance culture and values stream.
