Prescient Edge is seeking a Training Specialist III to support a federal government client. The availability of this position is contingent upon contract award. Trainers may differ considerably in their responsibilities and methods depending on the organization's size, goals, and nature. Training methods can include on-the-job training, operating schools that duplicate shop conditions, apprenticeship training, classroom training, electronic learning, multimedia programs, distance learning, satellite training, computer-aided instructional technologies, videos, simulators, conferences, and workshops. Training specialists conduct and supervise training and development programs for employees and external customers. Planning and program development are key aspects of this role. Trainers research problems to identify and assess training needs. The primary goal of training is to help employees develop new skills, enhance productivity, and improve work quality. Training specialists prepare teaching materials and lesson plans, engage participants, and issue completion certificates. They are responsible for planning, organizing, and directing a wide range of training activities, responding to corporate and worker service requests, and consulting with onsite supervisors regarding performance improvement services. In government-supported programs, training specialists act as case managers, assessing client training needs and guiding them through appropriate training methods.
