About The Position

Cox Fleet is seeking individuals for a paid educational program, FleeTec Academy, that leads to a career as a full-time Trailer Technician. This program provides free education on trailer repair fundamentals, a set of hand tools with a toolbox, and a paycheck during the four-week intensive schooling at the Academy Campus. Travel expenses, hotel accommodation, and a meal stipend are covered. Upon completion of the classroom phase, participants will receive hands-on training from a Lead Technician and be offered a full-time Mobile Trailer Mechanic position. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations using a state-of-the-art vehicle. The program includes ongoing classroom study and a defined career path with raises.

Requirements

  • Desire to start a career as a Trailer Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.
  • Willingness and ability to study hard.
  • Ability to dedicate four weeks away from home for training.
  • Maturity to focus on the task at hand.
  • Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
  • Ability to operate an iPad.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
  • Must be at least 21 years or older.
  • Must hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

  • High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
