About The Position

Cox Fleet is seeking individuals for their FleeTec Academy program, a paid educational initiative designed to train aspiring Trailer Technicians. This program offers free technical education on trailer repair fundamentals, a set of hand tools and toolbox upon completion, and leads to a full-time Mobile Trailer Mechanic position. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations using a state-of-the-art mobile vehicle. The program includes four weeks of full-time paid classroom training at an Academy Campus, with travel and accommodation expenses covered, followed by hands-on training with a Lead Technician and a full-time job offer. Ongoing classroom study is part of the multi-year program. This position adheres to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Requirements

  • Desire to start a career as a Trailer Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.
  • Willingness and ability to study hard.
  • Ability to dedicate four weeks away from home for training.
  • Maturity to focus on the task at hand.
  • Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
  • Ability to operate an iPad.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
  • Must be at least 21 years or older.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and complete four weeks of full-time paid classroom training at the Academy Campus.
  • Participate in hands-on training with a Lead Technician in your market.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on trailers at customer locations using a mobile repair vehicle.
  • Maintain and operate a state-of-the-art mobile repair vehicle.
  • Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Continue education through periodic classroom study as part of the multi-year program.
