About The Position

Provides a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment by refreshing spaces throughout the healthcare system under a supervisor’s direction. Under the guidance of a tradesperson lead in a specialty area, participates in the building management program, providing high-quality, cost-effective service with an emphasis on customer satisfaction and quality.

The role contributes to facilities construction for new-build projects and refresh efforts, including carpentry, flooring installation, painting, and drywall repair. Work is generally performed as part of a team, with some independent work. The average work week is Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work possible.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience.
• Valid State of Michigan driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, tradesperson leads, construction trades, and subcontractors to support quality, timely, cost-effective construction and coordinated services.
• Under the guidance of a tradesperson lead, perform basic preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and services on general building features.
• Measure, cut, and install multidisciplinary items using hand and power tools.
• Document procedures and completed work accurately and promptly.
• Assist with reviewing project blueprints, developing estimates, placing orders, and preparing sites for construction, installation, replacement, or repair.
• Maintain equipment and supplies properly and use them safely; keep work areas orderly, clean, and safe.
