About The Position

The Stock Borrow/Loan (SBL) desk is part of the Prime Finance organization and supports equity finance trade structures including short coverage, financing, conduit lending, dividend yield enhancement, and longer-term structured solutions. SBL borrows securities from counterparties across multiple jurisdictions and manages the operational flow of positions through legal entities to the appropriate risk entity.

As a Stock Borrow/Loan Middle Office Analyst, you will facilitate and control the end-to-end lifecycle of Equity Borrow/Loan activity in North America. You will partner with Front Office, clients, and external counterparties to support timely trade processing, accurate collateral management, exception resolution, and compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements. The role covers regulatory reporting support, client onboarding coordination, cash and securities collateral management, reconciliations, and oversight of trade lifecycle-related cash flows and breaks.

The role requires availability from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with some days extending until 7 p.m. based on daily volumes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort with data analytics and operational tooling, or strong willingness to learn.
• Availability to work from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with certain days extending to 7 p.m. based on daily volumes.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily collateral and exposure monitoring, ensuring appropriate margining and timely calls and returns.
• Support end-to-end processing for equity borrow/loan transactions, including settlements, rate changes, corporate action impacts, and lifecycle events.
• Investigate and resolve trade exceptions, breaks, and cash/stock discrepancies; own key reconciliations and controls.
• Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for Front Office, clients, and external counterparties; escalate issues appropriately and proactively.
• Support regulatory reporting and ongoing control obligations, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely deliverables.
• Partner with KYC, Legal, Credit, and internal stakeholders to support new and incremental client onboarding and maintenance activities.
• Produce daily and weekly metrics for key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance measures, and provide clear updates to management.
• Identify opportunities to improve controls, reduce operational risk, and increase efficiency through standardization and digital or automation tools.
