About The Position

The Trade Instructor Substitute provides career technical instruction in accordance with approved curricula at the Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center in Reno, Nevada. The role provides training and basic guidance to help students achieve their academic goals. Work is scheduled as needed, Monday through Friday, at a wage of $140.24 per day.

Requirements

• Substitute teaching certification or license, as required by the state of employment.
• Two years of work-related experience in the designated career training area.
• Willingness to obtain the OSHA 10 credential within the first 90 days of employment, if needed.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated instructional areas.
• Motivate and counsel students regarding behavior, training, personal problems, and study habits.
• Coordinate with counselors and staff as needed to resolve issues affecting student training or instruction.
• Develop and prepare lessons according to approved curriculum guidelines, and recommend curriculum changes and supplemental materials.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe training environment.
