About The Position

The Instructor, Vocational Trade Substitute provides career technical instruction in accordance with approved curricula at the New Orleans Job Corps Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The instructor provides training and basic guidance to help students achieve their academic goals. This substitute role is scheduled as needed, Monday through Friday, and pays $197.28 per day.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Related experience in the trade for which the individual will be substituting.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
• Motivate and counsel students regarding behavior, training, personal problems, and study habits.
• Coordinate with counselors and staff as needed to resolve issues affecting student training or instruction.
• Develop and prepare lessons in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines, and recommend curriculum changes and supplemental materials.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe training environment.
