About The Position

MTC operates the Edison Job Corps Center in Edison, New Jersey, where staff provide services to local youth. The Instructor, Trade Substitute provides career technical instruction in accordance with approved curricula and offers students training, basic guidance, and direction to help them achieve their academic goals. The position is scheduled as needed, Monday through Friday, and pays $162.24 per day.

Requirements

• Substitute teaching certification or license, as required by the state of employment.
• Two years of work-related experience in the designated career training area.
• Willingness to obtain the OSHA 10 credential within the first 90 days of employment, if needed.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated instructional areas.
• Motivate and counsel students regarding behavior, training, personal problems, and study habits.
• Coordinate with counselors and staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training or instruction.
• Develop and prepare lessons in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines, and recommend curriculum changes and supplemental materials.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe training environment.
