About The Position

The Tournament Official assists with all phases of tournament operations at The Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The role supports youth baseball tournaments at a state-of-the-art sports complex and helps provide participants and guests with a high-quality experience consistent with the Ripken brand and The Ripken Way.

The Tournament Official works at a designated field, announcing games, serving as a rules consultant, and providing customer service. The position requires professionalism, initiative, and collaboration with staff to achieve tournament objectives effectively and efficiently. The work schedule varies according to business needs and includes nights and weekends.

Requirements

• Prior work experience in a customer service environment.
• Prior baseball or softball experience, through playing or coaching.
• Outgoing, friendly personality and excellent communication skills.
• Strong initiative and high energy.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve.
• Good time-management skills.
• Passion for sports.
• Availability to work a variable schedule, including nights and weekends based on business needs.
• Ability to regularly lift heavy items weighing 20 pounds or more.
• Ability to work with exposure to extreme heat or cold.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff with executing youth baseball tournaments at the facility.
• Announce games at a designated field.
• Serve as a rules consultant at a designated field.
• Provide customer service to guests.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and provide extraordinary internal and external customer service.
• Absorb training and demonstrate initiative and drive to uphold the values of the Ripken name and brand.
• Work with staff to achieve objectives effectively and efficiently and provide a memorable experience for participants.
