About The Position
Nashville Riverboats, operated by Manthey Hospitality in Nashville, Tennessee, is seeking an outgoing and engaging Tour Narrator to bring the Cumberland River and Nashville’s history to life for guests. The role combines storytelling, entertainment, and hospitality while interacting with guests from around the world aboard riverboats. The Tour Narrator delivers sightseeing-cruise narration using established tour content and talking points, shares local history in an engaging way, welcomes guests, answers general questions, and helps create a memorable experience. The position works closely with marine, hospitality, and guest-service teams and requires a professional presence throughout each cruise. The posting describes the role as available part-time or full-time and notes that duties may change or include additional tasks based on business needs.
Requirements
- Confident, outgoing personality with strong public-speaking skills.
- Natural storytelling ability and ability to keep an audience engaged.
- Friendly and approachable, and comfortable interacting with people of all ages and backgrounds.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional.
- Able to learn and retain tour scripts, historical information, and talking points.
- Comfortable speaking on a microphone for extended periods.
- Able to think on your feet and adapt when needed.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in tourism, hospitality, theater, public speaking, education, entertainment, or customer service.
- Knowledge of Nashville history.
Responsibilities
- Narrate sightseeing cruises using established tour content and talking points.
- Share Nashville and Cumberland River history in an engaging, entertaining way.
- Welcome guests and create a friendly, hospitable atmosphere.
- Speak comfortably and confidently to groups of varying sizes.
- Adjust delivery and energy based on the audience while maintaining accurate tour content.
- Answer general guest questions and provide excellent customer service.
- Work closely with the marine, hospitality, and guest-service teams.
- Maintain a professional presence throughout each cruise.
