About The Position

This union position conducts groups through Authority plants and visitor centers, providing information about the Authority and its energy sources through tours, lectures, and demonstrations. The Tour Guide maintains daily newspaper clipping files and performs basic routine maintenance to set up or disassemble portable exhibits as needed. The role may involve working with and assisting a Senior Tour Guide. The position is located at the New York Energy Zone, 35 Utica Way, Utica, NY 13501, and requires weekend work and varied hours; schedules are subject to change. The negotiated pay rate is $21.29 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• At least one year of experience in related communications, public contact, or educational/community service employment, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to function well under pressure.
• Ability to work weekends and varied hours; schedules are subject to change.

Responsibilities
