About The Position

The Blinn College District is hiring a part-time Tour Guide at its Bryan Campus. The role provides general information, explanations, directions, and guide services to campus visitors, including prospective students and their families. Tour Guides lead campus walking tours and share their enthusiasm for Blinn College. The position also performs clerical office duties for the Office of Prospective Student Relations.

Tours follow a predetermined route, can last up to 1 hour and 15 minutes, and may take place in inclement weather. During busy periods, multiple tours per day may be scheduled. The position is available for 6 to 19 hours per week, with a maximum of 19 hours weekly. The target hire date is January 4, 2027. Compensation is $15.00 per hour, and the role is non-exempt.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse groups of people and personalities.
• Ability to memorize and clearly and accurately recite facts.
• Ability to walk long distances throughout the day.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Enthusiasm for and commitment to Blinn College's mission and values, and enjoyment of working with people and sharing enthusiasm for the college.
• Ability to maintain an established work schedule and work between 6 and 19 hours per week.
• Ability to make individual and group presentations.
