The Tooling Technician will be responsible for ensuring machinists are supplied with adequate tooling and equipment for each CNC machine in use. This role involves maintaining inventory for tools and other items needed to run CNC machines, working closely with Machinists, Scheduling, and Leadership to prioritize machine setup carts, and cleaning, dressing, and breaking down tooling using appropriate cleaning methods. The technician will select holding fixtures, attachments, accessories, and materials for machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers to maintain .0005 tolerances. Additionally, the role requires documenting all instances and circumstances of scrapped tooling, communicating effectively with peers, and working with precision measuring tools like micrometers, calipers, and indicators. The technician will also report machine failures, non-conformance, spills, accidents, EHS concerns, and maintenance requests immediately. Participation in P5S initiatives, performing basic preventative maintenance on machines daily, and adhering to all safety programs including PPE and safe operating practices are also key responsibilities. This position may require exposure to information subject to US Export Control regulations (ITAR or EAR), and all applicants must be US persons.
