About The Position

The Tooling Tech is primarily responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all injection tooling. This position will support continuous improvement activities through the development and fabrication of components to improve safety, process reliability or eliminate scrap. The Process Engineer fulfills the responsibilities of this role when vacant.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D required.
  • 5 to 10+ years’ experience of injection tooling experience required.
  • Ability to maintain good, positive, cordial working relationships with all personnel.
  • Ability to work with others in a way that elicits their cooperation and support.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and information.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures, good manufacturing practices and team development.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Determination to see problems through to resolution.
  • Ability to read and follow tool drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the mold and Hot Runner PM schedule.
  • Responsible for achieving and tracking On Time Completion % PM metric.
  • Complete Hot Runner training – vendor to be decided at appropriate time
  • Track and audit spare parts inventory
  • Order spare parts based on immediate needs and inventory needs.
  • Execute short- and long-term projects assigned by management.
  • Disassemble and reassemble Hot Runner systems.
  • PM Hot Runner systems
  • Inspect Hot Runner systems for damage and/or malfunction.
  • Diagnose heating issues on Hot Runner systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams for Hot Runner systems.
