About The Position

Maintains, cleans, and moves machinery in the tool and die department. The role requires following workplace rules and policies and supporting the plant’s safety, environmental, and quality commitments. Employees are expected to act safely, protect their own safety and that of coworkers, and follow the Grandview Plant Environmental Policy (ISO 14001) and Quality Policy (ISO 9001). Requirements

• One year of related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group settings.
• Ability to perform arithmetic with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and compute rates, ratios, and percentages and draw or interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to perform the essential physical functions, including standing, walking, talking, hearing, handling objects, reaching, climbing or balancing, sitting, bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, squatting, or crawling.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 58 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must follow applicable work rules, policies, and safety and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

• Remove and clean mold parts, including plates, pins, and cavities.
• Clean machinery, including mills, lathes, grinders, and saws.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Operate a lathe, solvent tank, Dremel tool, bead blaster, stationary grinder, stationary sander, acetylene torch, and ceiling chain lifts.
• Follow all work rules and policies.
• Act safely and help ensure coworkers do not put themselves or others at risk.
• Support environmental stewardship and comply with the plant’s Environmental Policy and Quality Policy.
