About The Position

The Tool & Die Utility maintains, cleans, and moves machinery in the tool and die department. The role includes cleaning mold components and machinery, maintaining clean floors, and operating specified tools and equipment. Employees must follow all work rules and policies, work safely, and support the Grandview Plant’s environmental and quality policies, including ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 requirements. The position requires one year of related experience and/or training, the ability to read and interpret work instructions and safety documents, basic mathematical skills, and the ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions. The job involves regular standing, walking, talking, and hearing, as well as frequent hand use, reaching, climbing or balancing, and varied postures. Lifting requirements range from regularly lifting or moving up to 25 pounds to occasionally lifting or moving up to 100 pounds.

Requirements

• One year of related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percentage; and draw or interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to written, oral, or diagram instructions and handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to perform the essential physical demands, including standing, walking, hand use, reaching, climbing or balancing, and varied postures; lifting or moving up to 25 pounds regularly, 58 pounds frequently, and 100 pounds occasionally.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must follow work rules, safety requirements, and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Remove and clean mold parts, including plates, pins, and cavities.
• Clean machinery such as mills, lathes, grinders, and saws.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Operate a lathe, solvent tank, Dremel tool, bead blaster, stationary grinder, stationary sander, acetylene torch, and ceiling chain lifts.
• Follow all work rules and policies.
• Act safely and help ensure that coworkers do not put themselves or others at risk.
• Support the Grandview Plant’s Environmental Policy and Quality Policy requirements.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested by the supervisor.
