About The Position

Freeman Enclosure Systems is seeking a dependable and organized Tool Crib Associate to join our manufacturing team in Batavia, Ohio. The Tool Crib Associate is responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of tools, supplies, parts, and other materials used throughout the facility. This position supports production by ensuring employees have the tools and supplies they need while maintaining accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, computer proficient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Previous experience with inventory, warehouse operations, tool rooms, or manufacturing is preferred.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in inventory control, tool crib, warehouse, material handling, or manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience performing cycle counts is a plus.
  • Previous computer-based inventory experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize the tool crib, inventory areas, and storage locations.
  • Issue and receive tools, equipment, parts, and supplies to employees.
  • Maintain accurate records of tools and materials entering and leaving the tool crib.
  • Perform regular cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and report issues to management.
  • Enter and update inventory information using computer systems.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate when items need to be reordered.
  • Properly label and organize tools, parts, and supplies for easy identification and access.
  • Track company tools and equipment to help prevent loss or misplacement.
  • Inspect returned tools and equipment for damage or excessive wear.
  • Communicate with supervisors, maintenance, production, and purchasing regarding inventory needs.
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing incoming materials.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and electronic inventory records.
  • Keep the tool crib clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct scheduled and random cycle counts of tools, parts, supplies, and inventory.
  • Compare physical inventory to computer records.
  • Identify and research inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate counts and documentation.
  • Assist with periodic physical inventory audits.
  • Monitor high-use items and help maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Ensure inventory is stored in the correct location and properly identified.
  • Enter and update inventory information in computer systems.
  • Use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, or similar programs.
  • Perform basic data entry accurately.
  • Search for and retrieve inventory information.
  • Create or update basic spreadsheets and inventory reports.
  • Use inventory or warehouse management software as required.
  • Ability to learn company-specific inventory and purchasing systems.
