About The Position

As a Toddler Teacher at Merryhill School, you will nurture the growth, curiosity, and early development of toddlers. You will provide a secure, joyful classroom where children can build confidence and independence through structure, exploration, and warm, responsive caregiving. The role includes planning age-appropriate curriculum, supporting daily routines and purposeful play, working with educators and school leadership, communicating with parents, and maintaining a safe, clean classroom that meets licensing standards and school policies.

Requirements

12 semester units (or 18 quarter units) in Early Childhood Education, including coursework in child development, curriculum, and family/community.
Deep patience, nurturing instincts, and a genuine love for toddlers and early learning.
Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with children and families.
Reliability, collaboration, and commitment to high-quality care and education.

Experience working with toddlers in a licensed child care setting.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum focused on sensory exploration, early language, gross and fine motor development, and social-emotional growth.
Foster a consistent and comforting daily routine that supports toddlers’ need for structure and security.
Encourage independence through gentle guidance, responsive caregiving, and purposeful play.
Collaborate with fellow early childhood educators and school leadership to align instructional practices and care standards.
Communicate daily with parents through verbal updates, digital reports, and informal check-ins.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment aligned with licensing standards and school policies.
