About The Position

This role involves providing a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for toddlers. The Toddler Teacher will supervise children, plan and implement age-appropriate activities, and assist with daily routines. Key responsibilities include maintaining hygiene, preparing meals, communicating with parents, and ensuring compliance with licensing requirements. The position also requires maintaining classroom records, keeping the learning environment clean, and supporting children's social and developmental progress.

Requirements

  • Must be able to maintain proper classroom ratios.
  • Must be able to follow the center’s curriculum and daily classroom schedule.
  • Must be able to assist children with daily routines, including meals, diapering, toileting, handwashing, and nap time.
  • Must be able to change diapers.
  • Must be able to prepare and serve meals and snacks.
  • Must be able to communicate regularly with parents.
  • Must be able to maintain accurate classroom records.
  • Must be able to keep the classroom, toys, equipment, and learning areas clean, organized, and sanitized.
  • Must be able to support children as they learn appropriate social skills, sharing, communication, and independence.
  • Must be able to observe and document children’s developmental progress.
  • Must be able to follow all state licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and center policies.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with co-teachers and other staff members.
  • Must be able to attend staff meetings, training, and professional development as required.
  • Must be able to assist with classroom transitions and maintain a consistent daily routine.
  • Must be able to report any safety concerns, injuries, behavioral concerns, or developmental concerns to management.
  • Must be able to participate in special events, center activities, and family engagement activities.
  • Must maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
  • Must be able to perform other duties as assigned by the Center Director or management.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the center’s curriculum and daily classroom schedule.
  • Assist children with daily routines, including meals, diapering, toileting, handwashing, and nap time.
  • Change diapers and maintain proper hygiene and sanitation practices.
  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to center policies and children’s needs.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s day, development, meals, naps, and other important information.
  • Maintain accurate classroom records, including attendance, diapering, meals, naps, and incident reports.
  • Keep the classroom, toys, equipment, and learning areas clean, organized, and sanitized.
  • Support children as they learn appropriate social skills, sharing, communication, and independence.
  • Observe and document children’s developmental progress.
