About The Position

Primrose School of New Providence is seeking an experienced, dedicated Toddler Teacher to support young children's learning and development. The role requires a strong understanding of early childhood development, classroom management experience, and a passion for helping children learn and grow. Classrooms use a collaborative co-teaching model, with opportunities for classroom leadership based on experience and qualifications. The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Requirements

Previous experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or early childhood education setting.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Understanding of toddler development and age-appropriate teaching practices.
Ability to work collaboratively while demonstrating independence and initiative.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of early childhood teaching experience.
An associate's or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
Previous Lead Teacher experience.
Familiarity with New Jersey childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging toddler classroom alongside a co-teacher.
Implement developmentally appropriate activities using Primrose's Balanced Learning® curriculum.
Maintain classroom routines and use positive behavior guidance strategies.
Support children's social, emotional, and developmental milestones.
Ensure constant, active supervision and comply with licensing requirements.
Build positive relationships and communicate effectively with families.
Collaborate with fellow teachers and school leadership to maintain a high-quality learning environment.
