Toddler Assistant Teacher
About The Position
The Malvern School is seeking a full-time Assistant Teacher for its Toddler classroom at The Malvern School of Downingtown. The role assists with implementing the school’s Early Childhood Education program in accordance with its policies and philosophy, maintains a safe, healthy, and educational classroom environment, and communicates regularly with parents in person and through technology. The position is Monday through Friday. The Malvern School describes its approach as innovative, child-centered, and focused on quality education, teamwork, and a professional atmosphere. Its curriculum is designed to meet or exceed National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Either at least 2,500 hours (approximately 1 year and 4 months) of documented experience with young children in a licensed facility, or 15 relevant college credits (or a CDA) and at least 1,250 hours (approximately 8 months) of documented experience with young children in a licensed facility.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing the Early Childhood Education program in accordance with school policies and the Malvern School philosophy.
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and educational environment for the class.
- Communicate regularly with parents in person and through technology, meeting or exceeding their expectations.
