About The Position

Titans After School Program Aides work with a group of up to 25 students (TK-8th grades). Daily tasks consist of student supervision, tutoring, homework assistance, and educational enrichment. Program aides must have high energy, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to maintain a fun and organized atmosphere. This position requires availability at least three days a week. The role involves implementing program rules and procedures, supporting supervisors, communicating with the Site Coordinator, and following the chain of command for reporting incidents. Aides are responsible for accurate timekeeping, attending weekly staff meetings, and collaborating with colleagues. They will provide educational enrichment, including positive youth development strategies, recreation, prevention activities, and teaching life skills. The role includes tutoring and homework assistance, ensuring constant student supervision, and maintaining a safe environment. Aides must implement program curriculum, create and implement monthly engaging educational curricula, and manage program property. They may be required to provide extra support to students with behavioral challenges, work one-on-one with students needing assistance, and potentially assist with toileting needs. Progress tracking, managing service learners, interns, and volunteers, and checking assigned email for training updates are also responsibilities. Aides may need to fill in for instructors or lead enrichment activities. Employment is contingent upon continued Grant/Contract funding.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Ability to solely manage a classroom of 20-25 students
  • Understanding behavior management and effective disciplinary techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with exceptional interpersonal and partnering relationship skills
  • Ability to keep track of all curriculum and binders at the site
  • Enthusiastic and highly motivated with team-building skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel) and Google Drive (i.e. Docs, Sheets)
  • Must be flexible, team-oriented, child-focused, and want to make a difference in the lives of students
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Display professionalism at all times
  • Support their supervisor by following their directions
  • Communicate regularly with the Site Coordinator regarding all aspects of the program at the designated site
  • Follow all Chain of Command when it comes to reporting any incidents or concerns at site
  • Clocking in/out on the site’s desktop computer only
  • Complete an electronic timesheet and approve own hours on TimeClock as scheduled bi-weekly
  • Attend all weekly staff meetings
  • Work collaboratively with all staff members
  • Collect all attendance documents and any other documents needed at the end of programming daily
  • Provide students with educational enrichment, including positive youth development strategies, recreation, prevention activities, and the ability to teach youth positive life skills
  • Ensure the students receive constant supervision and provides a safe and supported environment at all times
  • Implement all Titans After School Program curriculum
  • Create and implement an engaging educational curriculum every month upon approval of their direct supervisor
  • Manage Titans After School Program property
  • Provide extra support to students with behavioral challenges
  • Work in a small group setting with students that require extra assistance
  • Escorting students to different rooms, restrooms, and from the school day teachers to the after-school program
  • Work one-on-one with any students that require extra support in the areas of behavior, academic support, eloping, or maybe a safety risk to themselves or others due to physical behavior
  • Assist students with toileting needs and toileting accidents
  • Accurately track students’ progress using the programmatic protocol
  • Stay past the scheduled time when students are picked up past normal check-out time
  • Manage service learners, interns, and volunteers at the site
  • Check assigned Fullerton email on a weekly basis to ensure all training are up-to-date and completed by their deadline
  • Follow all Titans protocols and guidelines
  • Step in or fill in for program instructors if the program site is short staffed
  • Assist or lead enrichment activities, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
