About The Position

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a Tire Technician responsible for helping members select and purchase tires, installing and repairing tires, completing tire bay documentation, and maintaining tire bay policies and procedures. The role includes mounting, dismounting, rotating, and balancing tires; properly disposing of tires; and filling propane tanks when certified under DOT requirements. The technician maintains a clean, professional tire bay and waiting area, merchandises tire displays and automotive products, manages supply inventory, and uses available special-order tire programs appropriately. The position also involves providing knowledgeable service at the tire desk, verifying tire sizes for vehicles, coordinating with Home Office regarding member tire needs as necessary, and completing scheduling data and sales and service order documentation. Team members follow club policies, safety and cleanliness standards, and equipment procedures; support members and coworkers with a friendly, inclusive, service-oriented approach; and may perform duties in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function. The position pays $18.00–$22.50 per hour and includes a $1,000 sign-on bonus in the job title.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills or willingness to learn basic computer skills.
• Must pass Michelin training levels one through four within three months of hire.
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds with assistance.

• Prior tire installation experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with selecting and purchasing tires, including verifying tire sizes for vehicles.
• Install tires by mounting, dismounting, rotating, and balancing them; perform tire repairs as applicable.
• Properly dispose of tires and fill propane tanks as needed when certified under DOT requirements.
• Maintain a clean, professional tire bay and waiting area, and merchandise tire displays and automotive products.
• Provide knowledgeable service to members at the tire desk and coordinate with Home Office about member tire needs as needed.
• Maintain an accurate and complete supply inventory and appropriately use available special-order tire programs.
• Complete tire bay scheduling data and documentation for sales and service orders.
• Comply with safety, cleanliness, club policies, procedures, and proper use of tire bay equipment.
• Support a safe, positive, inclusive environment and resolve or escalate member concerns as appropriate.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
