Tire Technician Full Time $1000 Sign on Bonus
About The Position
The Tire Technician assists members with selecting and purchasing tires, verifies tire sizes for vehicles, and installs and repairs tires. The role includes mounting, dismounting, rotating, and balancing tires; completing tire bay sales and service documentation; maintaining supplies; merchandising tire displays and automotive products; and keeping the tire bay and waiting area clean and professional. The technician provides knowledgeable service at the tire desk, uses special-order tire programs, and coordinates with the Home Office about member tire needs as needed. The role may also include filling propane tanks when certified under DOT requirements, properly disposing of tires, and working in other departments as assigned. Team members are expected to follow club policies and safety procedures, support a safe and positive member experience, and maintain regular, predictable, full attendance. The listed pay range is $18.00–$22.50 per hour.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills or willingness to learn basic computer skills.
- Must pass Michelin training levels one through four within three months of hire.
- Ability to lift over 30 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to perform frequent bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, side-to-side movement, stooping, and ladder or step-stool climbing.
- Ability to frequently lift objects up to 30 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Prior tire installation experience preferred.
- DOT certification, if filling propane tanks.
Responsibilities
- Assist members in selecting and purchasing tires, including verifying vehicle tire sizes.
- Install tires by mounting, dismounting, rotating, and balancing them; repair tires as needed.
- Complete tire bay scheduling data and documentation for sales and service orders.
- Provide knowledgeable service to members at the tire desk and resolve or escalate member concerns as appropriate.
- Coordinate with the Home Office regarding member tire needs as needed.
- Maintain accurate and complete supply inventory.
- Use available special-order tire programs appropriately.
- Merchandise tire displays and automotive products.
- Maintain a clean and professional tire bay and waiting area.
- Dispose of tires properly and fill propane tanks when certified under DOT requirements.
- Follow tire bay equipment, safety, cleanliness, club policy, and procedure requirements.
- Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
