About The Position

This role is responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture product according to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction. The position requires interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology, and involves process inspection, certification, and documentation. Additionally, the role includes welding equipment maintenance and other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.

Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and instructions.
• Basic Computer skills.
• Proficiency in welding techniques.
• Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials.
• Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.).
• Capable of reading wiring schematics.
• High School diploma, or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an internal welding test.
• Minimum 1-year experience in various forms of welding.

Responsibilities

• Perform weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations.
