The Welder is responsible for TIG Welding / Fabrication of custom parts and/or components using ISI supplied drawings and/or blueprints while holding tolerances of +/-.010 and/or .5% angular. This role requires the ability to meet or exceed project requirements through manual fabrication, including port alignment, scribing, cutting/coping, tacking, tuning, and welding, while maintaining specific angular tolerances and focal lengths. Close collaboration with machinists throughout the manufacturing process is essential. The welder must be familiar with metallurgy, particularly stainless steel, and understand proper weld settings and filler rod selection for various materials. Producing vacuum-tight welds in challenging areas and understanding the proper order of operations, including identifying main datum points and sequence of hole penetration, are key responsibilities. The role also involves welding while operating a positioner table, controlling heat zones and pulsing, and brazing different materials to maintain vacuum-tight seals. Other duties as assigned and adherence to all ISI rules are also part of the role.
