About The Position

IMP Solutions, a division of IMP Group Limited, provides IT products and IT and business consulting services to clients across Canada. The company is seeking an experienced and motivated I.T. Administrator to join its Managed Services team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The role supports and maintains client IT environments across server, network, and cloud platforms. It serves as an escalation point for front-line support and helps ensure systems are secure, reliable, and performing optimally. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, customer service skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The role involves responding to monitoring alerts and end-user issues, managing service tickets and customer communications, troubleshooting technical problems, and administering server, network, Office 365, and Azure environments.

Requirements

Three or more years of experience in back-office or Service Desk support.
Post-secondary education in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Strong understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network environments.
Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work professionally in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
Customer-focused, patient, approachable, and adaptable.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service by taking ownership of monitoring alerts and reported end-user issues.
Contact customers upon ticket reception to validate issue priority, schedule service, and provide ongoing updates.
Accurately document, categorize, and update incidents and service requests in the ticketing system.
Serve as an escalation point for front-line technical support, providing guidance and assistance.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
Perform server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, RDS, patching, ESX, Hyper-V, DHCP, DNS, and backups.
Administer and support network infrastructure, including firewalls, routing, switching, and performance troubleshooting.
Respond to and remediate server and network monitoring alerts.
Provide administration and troubleshooting support for Office 365 and Microsoft Azure environments.
