About The Position

The Third Key Holder reports to the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager. This role opens and closes the store, serves customers, and helps ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operations while following Hollywood Feed’s policy of doing what is right by the customer. The position offers an hourly wage of $15.50 to $19. Retail employees receive tips, and all employees receive discounts and free pet food and supplements. The Third Key Holder supports store operations, including customer service, product sales, stocking deliveries, register and point-of-sale tasks, inventory management, store maintenance, employee support, and same-day delivery. The role requires open and weekend availability, including closing three nights per week, as well as meeting the stated physical and safe-driving requirements.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
Proven sales and customer service abilities.
Knowledge of store products or ability to learn quickly.
Ability to operate or learn the point-of-sale system.
Valid driver’s license and at least two years of driving experience, including the learner’s permit period.
Meet the company Safe Driving Policy and be willing to drive a company delivery vehicle.
Able to lift 50 pounds overhead and repeatedly stock shelves.
Able to bend, kneel, push, pull, reach, and twist frequently.
Able to stand and walk for 8–10 hours.
Able to climb ladders often to access products.
Commitment to animals and their owners.

Responsibilities

Arrive before opening and remain after closing to prepare the store for business operations.
Assume managerial responsibilities when management is absent.
Greet and assist customers according to Hollywood Feed’s customer service standards.
Use product knowledge to address the needs of pets and customers.
Communicate openly and respectfully with supervisors and coworkers.
Work independently and as part of a team, and support and train new employees.
Maintain open and weekend availability, including closing three nights per week.
Unload and properly stock product deliveries.
Learn and use the point-of-sale system to open and close registers, create customer accounts, process transactions, and perform inventory tasks such as cycle counts.
Participate in scheduled Hollywood Feed educational sessions.
Complete routine weekly store maintenance, including cleaning restrooms, sweeping, mopping, dusting, setting up displays, and updating prices.
Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Safely operate company vehicles and deliver same-day orders in accordance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Use company-approved biometric authentication systems and safely operate company equipment that incorporates biometric, video, audio, and other safety technologies.
