About The Position

Thermo King West is hiring a Thermo King Service Technician in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The company operates nine family-owned dealerships serving trailer repair, transport refrigeration, and related business lines. The technician diagnoses, repairs, maintains, and installs transport temperature-control equipment, and installs, repairs, and services Auxiliary Power Units. Work must meet Thermo King specifications and dealer quality, safety, and procedural standards. The role includes maintaining product knowledge and required certifications, completing paperwork, keeping the work area orderly, and supporting customer needs. Technician level and pay grade depend on industry or related experience, with advancement from Apprentice through Certified, Professional, and Master Technician; Bus or Flat-Rate specialty certifications may also be available.

Requirements

Basic computer skills and knowledge.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to obtain a DOT medical card if required.
Ability to meet insurability standards for various dealer vehicles.
Successful completion of all pre-employment screening.

Ability to travel as required for training or customer needs.

Nice To Haves

Basic understanding of mechanical, transport refrigeration, and/or electrical systems; training may be provided.
Experience with diesel engines, heavy equipment repair, light-duty mechanics, or heavy wheel mechanics.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Related vocational or technical training.
EPA 608 Type II and 609 certifications.
A complete set of quality hand tools.

Responsibilities

Diagnose transport temperature-control equipment and perform necessary repairs efficiently and to high-quality standards.
Perform routine maintenance on transport temperature-control equipment according to prescribed procedures.
Install transport temperature-control equipment according to Thermo King specifications.
Install, repair, and service Auxiliary Power Units.
Keep current with Thermo King product developments and service bulletins or campaigns.
Follow dealer and Thermo King standards and work procedures.
Maintain the required CERTI-TECH certification level and participate in other training as required by national Thermo King standards.
Maintain dealer and Thermo King confidentiality.
Maintain good housekeeping and follow safety procedures.
Complete paperwork required by the dealership and Thermo King.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required.
Deliver high-quality, efficient service that supports superior customer satisfaction.
Build relationships, communicate proactively, exercise sound judgment, work with little or no supervision, continuously improve, and meet or exceed productivity standards.
