About The Position

This is a department-head position for a seasoned therapy leader who's ready to step fully into strategy high-impact leadership. You'll own the direction of a multidisciplinary therapy department: its people, its performance, its culture, and its reputation within the organization. The role is based in a dedicated office, with regular presence on the therapy floor to stay grounded in operations. The position works across the full scope of the organization from day-to-day staffing decisions to executive-level reporting.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Healthcare Administration, or closely related field
  • 7+ years in a therapy or rehabilitation setting, with at least 4 in formal leadership
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, quality programs, and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Comfort navigating complex institutional environments
  • Colorado therapist licensure (PT, OT, SLP) preferred not required for those with graduate-level healthcare administration credentials
  • CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Setting the strategic direction for all therapy services, aligned to organizational goals
  • Leading department hiring, development, performance, and succession
  • Owning the departmental budget: forecasting, variance analysis, and corrective action
  • Driving quality assurance and performance improvement programs (QAPI)
  • Maintaining regulatory and accreditation compliance, including survey readiness
  • Building relationships with physicians, clinical staff, and executive leadership
  • Developing and reporting on KPIs that reflect departmental impact and outcomes
  • Representing therapy at the organizational leadership level as its primary advocate
