About The Position

The Therapy Services Aide I performs designated routine tasks to support physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and audiologists. The aide prepares patients and treatment areas for care and assists therapists with selected routine patient-care tasks and procedures under on-site supervision. The role is based at Sonoran Medical Office Building in Phoenix, Arizona, and works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Previous patient-care experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare workers, as required for the assigned unit.

Graduate of a Physical Therapy Tech program.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment areas, equipment, and patients; clean the area and equipment after treatment.
Assist therapists with patient care for patients requiring the assistance of two people.
Perform appropriate modality treatments using correct parameters, as directed by a therapist.
Observe, guide, assist with, and record patient performance of range-of-motion, stretching, and strengthening exercises, activities of daily living, and dysphagia group activities.
Provide ambulation training to patients who require minimal assistance or less.
Keep the department and gym neat and orderly; return equipment to the Therapy Services storage area at the end of each day.
Maintain and clean equipment and supplies, and complete daily temperature logs and cleaning lists according to departmental guidelines.
Help control linen and supply inventory; systematically organize and stock supplies according to site guidelines.
Report equipment needing repair or maintenance to the Lead and assist with repairs as indicated.
Support and participate in cross-coverage efforts in the department.
Assist with scheduling inpatients and outpatients and entering therapy orders and productivity data as needed.
