About The Position

Riverside Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture with Select Medical, is seeking a Therapy Aide in Yorktown, Virginia. The role supports therapists with patient-related activities and preparation for therapy sessions. Compensation is $16.32–$19.51. Riverside Rehabilitation Hospital provides care for people facing brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS certification within the first 90 days of employment, required.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of hospital experience as a therapy aide preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient-related tasks assigned by a therapist.
• Lift patients to and from mats, treatment and tilt tables, wheelchairs, and other facility or department equipment.
• Assist patients with transfers to all surfaces.
• Assist patients with donning and doffing appliances specific to the facility or department.
• Position patients in parallel bars and prepare them for standing with appropriate orthotic or prosthetic devices and equipment.
• Transport patients to and from therapy as needed.
• Assist therapists with other patient-related treatment activities and provide equipment as appropriate.
• Assist with patient-related activities, including equipment setup and patient positioning in preparation for therapy sessions.
