About The Position

The Therapy Aide works in University Health Services and provides assistance with patient care to physical therapists. The role also helps manage clinical spaces across services, coordinates inventory management, and assists with over-the-counter sales. It requires a high level of customer service for internal and external customers.

Employment is contingent on successful completion of a criminal background check and routine screening of Medicaid and Medicare Exclusion Lists. Employees are ineligible for employment if listed on the List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) and/or System of Award Management (SAM). The employee must comply with University Health Services policies for tuberculosis screening, measles and mumps (MMR), seasonal flu, hepatitis B, and other immunization requirements. This is an ongoing, classified academic-year appointment represented by SEIU Local 503, Oregon Public Employees Union.

Requirements

• Recent experience working as a physical therapy aide or assisting with patient care in a medical, physical therapy, or athletic training facility.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds in support of an inclusive and welcoming environment.
• Ability to perform basic clerical functions, including data entry, scheduling, and record keeping.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and routine screening of Medicaid and Medicare Exclusion Lists.
• Compliance with University Health Services policies regarding tuberculosis screening, MMR, seasonal flu, hepatitis B, and other immunization requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of anatomy and tissue healing processes.
• Understanding of medical terminology.
