About The Position

Riverside Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture with Select Medical, is seeking a Therapy Aide in Yorktown, Virginia. The hospital provides care for individuals facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges related to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The role assists therapists with patient-related activities, transfers, positioning, equipment preparation, and transportation.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Certified BLS or completion of BLS certification within the first 90 days of employment required.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of hospital experience as a therapy aide preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient-related tasks assigned by a therapist.
• Lift patients to and from mats, treatment and tilt tables, wheelchairs, and other facility or department equipment.
• Assist patients with transfers to all surfaces.
• Assist patients with donning and doffing appliances specific to the facility or department.
• Position patients in parallel bars and prepare them for standing with appropriate orthotic or prosthetic devices and equipment.
• Transport patients to and from therapy as needed.
• Assist therapists with other appropriate patient-related treatment activities and provide equipment.
• Assist with equipment setup and patient positioning in preparation for therapy sessions, as outlined in the State Practice.
