About The Position

This posting is for an applicant pool for affiliate faculty in the Department of Theatre at Metropolitan State University (MSU Denver). These are temporary, part-time, non-tenure track academic positions that vary from semester to semester based on program needs. MSU Denver, established in 1965, serves over 16,000 diverse students and is a model university for today’s college students, recognized as a Hispanic-Serving Institution and the only Seal of Excelencia certified institution in Colorado. The Department of Theatre and Dance is seeking potential future affiliate faculty for its Theatre History and Social Justice Program.

Requirements

A Bachelor of Arts in Theatre or a related field, plus 6 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre or a related field, plus 4 years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

A Master of Fine Arts in Theatre or related field, plus 2 years of relevant experience; OR a Master of Arts Degree in Theatre, plus 3 years of relevant experience; OR a Doctorate in Theatre or related field, plus 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Teaching assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content to students.
Preparing course materials and lesson plans.
Grading student work and providing timely, robust feedback.
Addressing student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies.
Providing online or in-person academic support to students as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment.
Providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if required, with department course coordination policies.
Complying with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.
Adapting and learning new modes of instruction.
Being sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.
