Theatre Performance Affiliate Instructor
About The Position
This posting is for a pool of applicants for affiliate faculty positions within the Theatre Performance Program at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver). These are temporary, part-time, non-tenure track academic positions that vary from semester to semester based on program needs. Requirements
- A Bachelor of Arts in Theatre or a related field, plus 6 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre or a related field, plus 4 years of relevant experience.
Nice To Haves
- A Master of Fine Arts in Theatre or related field, plus 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master of Arts Degree in Theatre, plus 3 years of relevant experience; or a Doctorate in Theatre or related field, plus 2 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Teaching assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content to students.
- Preparing course materials and lesson plans.
- Grading student work and providing timely, robust feedback.
- Addressing student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies.
- Providing online or in-person academic support to students as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment.
- Providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if required, with department course coordination policies.
- Complying with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.
- Adapting and learning new modes of instruction.
- Being sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.
