About The Position

The Theater Engineer is responsible for supporting the Shared Early Warning System (SEWS) global infrastructure and communications architecture across U.S. Combatant Commands and allied partner locations worldwide. This position provides technical expertise for network infrastructure, communications systems, satellite transport solutions, cryptographic devices, and remote site support. The Theater Engineer supports both garrison operations in Colorado Springs and worldwide deployment activities, ensuring reliable delivery of missile warning and situational awareness data to partner nations and U.S. stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Must have a Security+ certification
  • 3+ years of supporting Cisco networking equipment or CCNA is required.
  • Experience with network routing protocols (i.e., Static routes, OSPF)
  • Knowledge of GRE and IPSEC tunnels.
  • Knowledge of Network Encryption Devices (i.e., KG-250, KG-250x, IPS-250x, KG-175).
  • Familiarization with Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express (VoIP).
  • Knowledge of Server/Client Systems and current Microsoft Operating Systems (Server & Workstation).
  • Active US Passport or ability to obtain an Active US Passport.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of systems administration experience is preferred.
  • Partner and Allied nation exercise experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco-based network infrastructure.
  • Support routers, switches, firewalls, cryptographic devices, and DISA circuits.
  • Deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain satellite communications systems including BGAN, MUOS, VSAT, and emerging transport technologies.
  • Provide technical support for worldwide operational sites and partner nations.
  • Conduct site surveys, system upgrades, preventive maintenance, and equipment refresh activities.
  • Create and maintain network diagrams, rack elevations, technical drawings, SOPs, and engineering documentation.
  • Participate in domestic and international travel supporting operational locations.
  • Support 24/7 operational requirements through an on-call rotation.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and provide corrective actions for network outages and system failures.
  • Collaborate with GCCS engineers and other technical teams to support system integration and delivery.
  • Provide training and technical instruction to end users and foreign partner personnel as required.
