About The Position

Incumbents will set up and operate audio-visual equipment including projectors, sound systems, video monitors, and theatrical lighting. In addition to providing assistance in the various meeting rooms and lecture halls, the audio-visual technicians will also support events in the Charles B. Wang Theater. Assist Production Manager: Assist with execution of audio, video, or lighting systems for events (e.g. programming lights; creating lighting looks; mixing sound). At times, serve as lead technician and/or stage manager. Maintain advanced audio-visual and theatrical equipment: Focusing lights; upkeep and minor repairs. Training Support: Assist Production Manager in providing job specific training for student assistants. Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (foreign equivalent or higher), or two (2) years of directly related full-time experience or a combination of education and experience totaling two (2) years.
  • One (1) year of directly related full-time experience in the field of audio visual and/or theatrical production.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional years (2+) of directly related full-time experience in the field of audio visual and/or theatrical production.
  • Experience training other technicians.
  • Experience with stage electrics, theatrical lighting design, audio systems for events, video and projection equipment, or stage management.
