Part Time Theater Arts Mentor (Fontana, CA)
About The Position
Study Smart is hiring a part-time Theater Arts Mentor to teach students in grades 9–12 in person in Fontana, California. The mentor provides support to small and large groups, adapts to teaching materials and strategies, and works with Study Smart staff and its Education team to support students’ learning. The scheduled hours are Fridays from 12:30 PM to 1:20 PM. Study Smart works with partners to promote educational equity, access, and student success through culturally responsive academic support. The organization aims to close opportunity gaps and support students holistically, including their resilience, self-confidence, and community engagement.
Requirements
- A completed four-year degree is required.
- In-person availability is required.
- Complete and pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting depending on location.
Nice To Haves
- A bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts is preferred.
- Teaching or tutoring experience is strongly desired.
Responsibilities
- Teach Theater Arts to students in grades 9–12.
- Provide mentoring support to small and large groups of students.
- Use information about students’ class assignments to inform support.
- Adapt to new materials and teaching strategies.
- Maintain consistent communication with Study Smart staff.
- Partner with Study Smart’s Education team to provide comprehensive learning strategies to students.
