About The Position

Study Smart is hiring a part-time mentor to teach Graphic Design and Digital Photography to students in grades 9–12 in person in Fontana, California. The mentor provides support to individuals and small and large groups, adapting to class materials and teaching strategies while coordinating with Study Smart staff and its Education team. Scheduled hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12:20 PM to 2:30 PM PST. The role requires completing and passing a background check, which may include fingerprinting depending on location.

Study Smart collaborates with partners to promote educational equity, access, and student success through culturally responsive academic support. Its mission is to close opportunity gaps and empower communities, while supporting students holistically and fostering collaboration among families, educators, and institutions.

The position offers a rate of $40 per hour, with paid onboarding, training, preparation, and support at $22 per hour. Requirements

• Completed four-year degree.
• Advanced photography experience.
• Advanced experience in digital photography.
• In-person availability.
• Complete and pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting based on location.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Photography preferred.
• Teaching or tutoring experience strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Teach Graphic Design and Digital Photography to students in grades 9–12.
• Provide mentoring support to small and large groups of students.

• Adapt to new materials and teaching strategies.
• Maintain consistent communication with Study Smart staff.
• Partner with Study Smart's Education team to provide comprehensive learning strategies to students.
