About The Position

The Foundry Host / Hostess welcomes and seats guests, supports restaurant service operations, and helps maintain the cleanliness and service standards of the restaurant at the AC Hotel Dayton. The role includes preparing the restaurant for service, managing reservations, and monitoring guests’ needs throughout the operation. The host or hostess is also responsible for following daily Food and Beverage procedures and maintaining food and beverage safety and quality in accordance with hotel, Shaner, and franchise specifications. The position requires communication with the General Manager, department managers, supervisors, staff, and guests. The schedule may vary and includes weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in the restaurant or Food and Beverage field.
• Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers.
• High school graduation or equivalent.
• ServSafe and/or food safety training.
• Alcohol awareness training, such as TIPS.

Nice To Haves

• Some college education.
• Bilingual English/Spanish ability.
• Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for the clientele.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort guests courteously to tables and assist with seating in accordance with hotel service standards.
• Help prepare the restaurant for service and maintain the cleanliness of the room.
• Take, record, and confirm reservations according to department standards.
• Assist in monitoring guests’ needs and all phases of restaurant operations.
• Ensure compliance with and completion of daily Food and Beverage Department operating procedures.
• Maintain food and beverage safety and quality according to hotel, Shaner, and franchise specifications.
• Communicate with the General Manager, other department managers, supervisors, and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
