About The Position

The Foundry Host / Hostess supports restaurant operations at the Dayton AC Hotel. The role includes greeting and seating guests, assisting with reservations, preparing and maintaining the restaurant, and monitoring guest needs throughout service. The position also helps ensure that daily Food and Beverage procedures are completed and that food and beverage safety and quality meet hotel, Shaner, and franchise specifications. The host or hostess communicates with the General Manager, department managers, supervisors, and staff, and performs other duties as assigned. The schedule is flexible and includes weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of experience in the Restaurant / Food and Beverage field.
• Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers so they understand.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• ServSafe and/or food safety training.
• Alcohol awareness training, such as TIPS.

Nice To Haves

• Some college preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for the clientele.

Responsibilities

• Courteously greet and escort guests to tables and assist with seating while meeting the hotel's service standards.
• Assist in preparing the restaurant for service and maintain the cleanliness of the room.
• Take, record, and confirm reservations according to department standards.
• Assist in monitoring guests' needs and all phases of the operation.
• Ensure compliance with and completion of daily operational procedures for the Food and Beverage Department.
• Maintain food and beverage safety and quality according to hotel, Shaner, and franchise specifications.
• Communicate with the General Manager, other department managers, supervisors, and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
