Avalanche Energy is seeking a Test Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, commission, and maintain infrastructure that enables its fusion experiments. The role connects mechanical design, electrical systems, facilities, manufacturing, and test operations. The engineer translates experimental needs into fixtures, test stands, utility systems, equipment layouts, and reliable hardware that can be operated safely and changed quickly. This is a hands-on role spanning the full lifecycle of infrastructure work, from initial concepts and requirements through CAD, drawings, procurement, fabrication, assembly, installation, checkout, documentation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Some designs are built by outside vendors or other team members; many are built or modified by the engineer. The role supports rapid design-build-test cycles and close collaboration with engineers, scientists, technicians, and operators. The position is onsite in Tukwila or Richland, Washington, to support hands-on design, fabrication, installation, testing, and close integration with relevant teams. Occasional travel may be needed for vendor visits, equipment procurement, integration, or collaboration.
