About The Position

Broadcom is seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer to join its Semiconductor Test Engineering team. The role focuses on developing production, characterization, and qualification test programs to ensure reliable, high-performance products across Broadcom’s SoC and ASIC portfolio. The engineer will collaborate with design, product, and quality engineering teams to drive test coverage, optimize test time, and deliver solutions from early silicon bring-up through high-volume manufacturing.

Requirements

  • A BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with related experience, or an MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience; the posting also states that recent college graduates may apply.
  • Strong knowledge of digital and high-speed test methodologies, scan/DFT concepts, and pattern processing.
  • Hands-on experience with ATE platforms such as Advantest or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python or C/C++.
  • Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics and characterization methods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SoC, AI accelerators, networking, or high-speed SerDes devices.
  • Familiarity with tester load board or probe card design, bring-up, and debug.
  • Experience supporting high-volume production test and manufacturing transfer.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, debug, and maintain ATE test programs for production, characterization, and qualification on the Advantest 93K test platform.
  • Perform pattern processing and convert patterns from design environments into tester-compatible formats.
  • Execute silicon characterization and validation across process, voltage, and temperature corners, and analyze results to improve yield and performance.
  • Work with DFT, design, and product engineering teams to define test requirements, improve test coverage, and close gaps.
  • Optimize test flows and methodologies to reduce overall test time and cost while ensuring high quality.
  • Drive correlation between simulation, bench, and tester environments.
  • Support high-volume manufacturing ramps by addressing test escapes, yield excursions, and test program robustness.

Benefits

  • Discretionary annual bonus eligibility.
  • Opportunity to receive a competitive new-hire equity grant and annual equity awards, subject to plan documents and award agreements.
  • Medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • 401(k) participation with company matching.
