Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across the company to refine product understanding and improve product impact, speed to market, and reliability.
  • Brainstorm and evaluate design solutions, assess tradeoffs, and narrow options.
  • Test ideas and designs using calculations, physical tests, and multiphysics simulations.
  • Design high-performance, reliable, manufacturable parts and assemblies using high-volume manufacturing processes.
  • Create and review drawings and part specifications.
  • Manage bills of materials, cost and mass roll-ups, vendors, and engineering releases.
  • Define manufacturing processes and inspection methods.
  • Work directly with part manufacturers to support prototypes and production.
  • Communicate with component suppliers, including reviewing Design for Manufacturing reports, First Article Inspection, and Part Production Approval Process materials.
  • Generate work instructions for electromechanical assemblies and preventive maintenance documentation.
  • Provide on-site build support at domestic and international contract manufacturing sites.
