About The Position

In collaboration with the Design Manager, the Design Services Artisan creates floral and container design projects in-store, off-site, and in private residential settings. The role helps uphold terrain’s four promises: to welcome, inspire, inform, and appreciate customers. The Artisan provides personalized customer attention, creates brand-appropriate designs informed by customer needs and current home and garden trends, and collaborates with design leadership and store teams. The position also supports project planning and execution, client communications, visual presentation, and store operations.

Requirements

Experience in horticulture and floral design.
Ability to lift more than 50 pounds.
Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the retail design business and off-site design projects.

Responsibilities

Build genuine, lasting customer relationships through personalized attention and guide customers toward choices that reflect their personal style.
Partner with design leadership to create a cohesive retail environment through plant installations and displays.
Translate home and garden trends and customer needs into brand-appropriate designs.
Work independently or as part of a team to achieve design goals; participate in daily meetings and share information about plant design projects.
Build productive partnerships with store team members, contribute to communication and teamwork, and respond openly to feedback.
Communicate daily with the Design Manager about client consultations, design details, and project updates.
Maintain client design files and promptly respond to customer project inquiries.
Contribute inspiration, ideas, and sketches to project planning; prioritize projects, monitor timelines, and work within the visual budget.
Apply design principles to execute projects with a high level of craft.
Maintain clean and organized back-of-house display areas.
Follow store safety standards, maintain inventory accuracy, reduce product loss, and comply with company policies and procedures.
