About The Position

In collaboration with the Design Manager, the Design Services Artisan creates floral and container design projects in-store, off-site, and in private residential settings. The role supports terrain’s four promises: to welcome, to inspire, to inform, and to appreciate customers. The position is located at 561 Post Road East, Westport, Connecticut.

Requirements

Experience in horticulture and floral design.
Ability to lift more than 50 pounds.
Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the retail design business and off-site design projects.

Responsibilities

Exceed customer expectations by building genuine, long-lasting relationships through personalized attention and guiding customers toward choices that reflect their personal style.
Understand terrain retail concepts and partner with design leadership to create a cohesive environment through compelling plant installations and displays.
Apply knowledge of home and garden trends in art, style, color, design, and architecture to create brand-appropriate designs that meet customer needs.
Take initiative and work productively independently or with a team to achieve design goals; participate in daily meetings and share relevant information about plant design projects.
Build and maintain productive partnerships with store team members, contribute to strong communication and teamwork, and respond openly to feedback.
Communicate daily with the Design Manager regarding client consultations, design details, and project updates; manage client design files and respond promptly to customer project inquiries.
Contribute to project planning by sharing inspiration, generating ideas, and sketching; prioritize projects, monitor timelines, and stay within visual budgets.
Apply design principles to execute projects with a high level of craft and maintain clean, organized back-of-house display areas.
Follow store safety standards, maintain inventory accuracy, reduce product loss, and comply with company policies and procedures to support store profitability.
