About The Position

The Terminal Manager oversees terminal dock operations, including freight loading and unloading, forklift traffic, and the picking and sortation of palletized freight. The role leads terminal staff, drivers, and dock workers; monitors production and key performance indicators; and ensures safety, operational-model compliance, and excellent service and product quality. The position requires an average of 50 hours per week and flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase.

Requirements

• Prior LTL management experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership skills, including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees.
• Desire to provide customers with excellent service.
• High aptitude for technology.
• Ability to multitask while remaining detail-oriented.
• Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work an average of 50 hours per week.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations, including loading and unloading freight, managing forklift traffic, and ensuring proper picking and sortation of palletized freight.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staff.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers and dock workers.
• Monitor dock production and ensure facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met or exceeded.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure compliance with the company operational model.
• Support a culture of excellence in product quality for internal and external customers.
