About The Position

Central Transport is hiring a Terminal Manager to oversee operations at an LTL cross-dock facility. The role leads dock operations, including freight loading and unloading, forklift traffic, and the picking and sortation of palletized freight. The manager also leads a group of 5–10 LTL city and road drivers, recruits and develops staff, monitors productivity and audit compliance, and helps ensure the terminal meets performance and safety standards. The position is based at 4706 Stillwell Street, Kansas City, MO 64120. The stated shift is 6:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase. The candidate is expected to average 50 hours per week.

Nice To Haves

Prior LTL management experience is strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Oversee terminal dock operations in an LTL cross-dock facility, including loading and unloading freight, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking and sortation of palletized freight.
Provide leadership and accountability to 5–10 LTL city and road truck drivers by communicating expectations, coaching on new processes, and maintaining company and terminal expectations.
Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal and driver staff.
Monitor dock production and facility audit compliance, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met or exceeded.
Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT and OSHA standards.
Support a culture of excellence in product quality for internal and external customers.
Work varying shifts as business levels increase.
